The new way of looking at horse racing

A SMALL FORTUNE FOR SOME WINNERS

The last time it won over 1800 metres at Happy Valley, the odds were 100 to 1.

We can safely say that the horse was un-fancied that day.

At its first start this season, it won at 9 to 1.

And then it won again four days later over same distance on the all-weather track at Shatin and in the same class.

It had managed to “cheat” the handicapper winning two races in Class 4.

Last night, the Ricky P F Yiu-trained and Zac Purton-ridden Fortune Winner came second in The American Club Challenge Cup, back at Happy Valley and racing over 1800 metres in Class 3.

On a rainy night, it did very well to come second and was beaten a little over a length by the Danny C S Shum-trained Owners Glory masterfully ridden by Darren Beadman.

Keep following Fortune Winner to place in this Class 3 grade – especially if ridden by an apprentice, as it is a rejuvenated animal and bang in form.

With some weight off its back through the claim of an apprentice jockey, it can keep on placing.

When its form tapers off and it drops in the ratings, wait for it to hit its right mark again and back it to win.
