The new way of looking at horse racing

ADAYAR!!! THE QUADDIE!!! And now for the Triple Trio at Shatin…

Let’s not mention Adayar who, with “reject” Adam Kirby on his back, blew away not only all the runners in the Epsom Derby last night, but also the racing pundits and pontificating Hooray Henrys including the supercilious Michael Tabor. Oh, come on, let’s mention Adayar.

We’ve been in Adam Kirby’s corner for days after the shoddy way he was treated by many until Charlie Appleby helped turn things around for him with some instant karma intervention.

As for the pontificators, now run away and wipe all that egg off your faces while the bookmakers are, no doubt, still doing the Dance Of Love.

Going the early crow has choked many over the years. And there was an eerie silence of the lambs yesterday when Bolshoi Ballet was not only left flat-footed, the galloper simply was never ever in the race- starting from when behind the barriers.

Earlier yesterday, there weren’t toooooo many surprises if following the races all around Oz yesterday and good to see John Moore train a winner, this time at the Gold Coast.

This winner happened was when favourite So Clever saluted with apprentice Jaden Lloyd, below, son of the Guv’nor Jeff Lloyd, aboard.

A winner is a winner wherever one can get them. And at Rosehill, Tom Berry had a big day out when he rode a four timer, brought up his 100th winner of season and is riding in rarified form.

The unstoppable Jamie Kah rode the first two winners at Flemington- her 90th and 91st metro winners of what already is a phenomenally successful season.

Another winner was the always astute form analyst Deane Lester aka The Amazing Deano, someone who, thankfully, isn’t in love with his own voice. Having to endure one of those every weekend is more than enough.

As for The Great Deano, he tipped the $3100 Flemington Quaddie though some of us were hoping Lunar Flare (16) would have been turned over by the other more value packed selections taken in our last leg- Vegas Knight (12) and Master Chum (7). Still…

In Hong Kong, all the talk for the past week other than vaccinations and possible side effects has been how to tackle the Triple Trio bet and walk away with a jackpot expected to reach over HK$90 million.

Some will be happy to snag a small percentage of this. The Gordon Gekkos will only be happy if they have the bragging rights to say that they were the only ones to win it all.

How? By picking the top three in any running order in races 4,5,6.

Sound simple? Always does. It never is and it’s why the exotic bet has not been won for the past 3-4 weekends.

This Sunday’s Triple Trio is not made any easier with the first leg being one of those dastardly dirt races where the Brown Dirt Cowboy usually kicks sand in the face of Captain Fantastic.

Strategies? These come in different forms attached with highly individual thinking and depending on one’s budget.

Some we know with money for nothing and chicks for free are boxing up five horses in each leg for 50 percent of the winnings and then taking another bet using a banker with five legs in each relevant race for a full ticket. Confused?

The more frugal are taking double bankers with seven legs in each leg. One of our girlfriends is buying four choices in each leg comprising lucky numbers and birthdates. Don’t laugh.

This is same young lady lawyer who recently won a small fortune by backing 124-1 Romancer straight out because she liked the name. The Amazing One who knows nothing about racing also snagged the full $56,000 Quaddie for good measure.

How can we help? No idea really. Maybe give you five horses in each leg of the Triple Trio races that we like right now- but which might change if they offer no value as the minutes tick down to the start of the fourth race…Do what you like with them. Maybe do an Adam Kirby?

RACE 4 Bankers: Dragon Commander (1) Regency Gem (3) Legs: 3-6-8-9-11-12

RACE 5 Bankers: V Chevaliers Blotting Paper (7) Legs: 1-11-12-13-14

RACE 6 Banker: Victory Scholars (3) Legs: 5-6-8-10-12

FASTTRACK

The new way of looking at horse racing

The world of entertainment today is vast, it cannot be defined, it is intertwined and has become one. One cannot, for example, have music without fashion- and vice versa. Rock Stars, supermodels, actors and actresses and sports heroes have formed Mutual Admiration Societies.

On www.fasttrack.hk, you will see Who’s In, Who’s Out, What’s Hot and What’s Not- in Hong Kong and the rest of the world- in English and Chinese. It’s all ballsy stuff that breaks new ground and tells it like it is. The gloves are off.

Fast Track is the authority and driving force to steer you along the edgy road to this new world of entertainment.. Of course, there will be our opinions- off-the-wall, to-the-point and no waffle.

More important to us is what you think. Really think. Agree, disagree, or tell us to take a hike. As long as it’s a hike on the fast track of life, it doesn’t matter.
