The new way of looking at horse racing

Adoring Adele (But For How Long)

Other than Amy Winehouse, all those in the music industry have been able to talk and rave about in the past five years has been Adele.

According to them, Adele is the saviour of music.

How Adele is so real.

How Adele is raw.

How Adele is what music should be.

How Adele does not come in a neat little package with a bow on it.

But the more the media talks and writes incessantly bout how pure and raw she is, how this is what real music talent should be about, the more packaged she becomes.

Ask Adele and she probably hates all this adulation and just wants to sing.

It’s all starting to remind me of Norah Jones cracking a shit and telling us all at EMI to stop ALL advertising for her second record right away – worldwide.

She could not take the commercialism.

She wanted her music to do the talking for her.

Norah got she wanted.

She’s a smart, nice, feisty little thing.

As for Adele, stop and enough with all this hype.

It detracts from everything Adele is about.

Soon, every music company will have an “Adele.”

Remember how Duffy was “the new Amy Winehouse”?

There was only one Amy Winehouse and there will only be one Adele.

If anything, the successes of both artists, shows the void of talent in today’s music industry.

But it’s changing with a sudden wave of real musicians and artists.

It’s hard to imagine, but think that there was once and all in one place – the Beatles, Dylan and the Stones.

There was Hendrix, The Who, Cream, Doors, Mamas and Papas, Buffalo Springfield, the Kinks.

Sure, there were publicists and managers around these acts.

But there was no hype.

The music spoke for itself.

One supposes that with a music industry bereft of good news and any kinda reasonable sales, there is a need to trumpet any morsel of success.

And like Amy Winehouse before her, the flavour of the day is now Adele.

Let’s just hope that the flavour remains fresh and doesn’t go stale ‘cos of saying  and reading the same things over and over again.
