The new way of looking at horse racing

ALL FOR A VISION AND A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Perhaps it’s finally getting somewhere.

Music from Hong Kong, that is.

I came across this music video for a new track by the local band called All For A Vision.

First of all, apart from the last Noughts And Exes video which was very good- and slick as the band’s lead singer and main writer Joshua Wong is a damn fine editor- this video broke a “pattern” that has been set and followed by Hong Kong bands for way too long:

The “pattern” is to have no video at all, or have someone produce something which is so outta sync with the music, but which you take ‘cos it’s free.

There is no such thing as a free lunch and there is no such thing as a free video- especially, if it tries to tell a “story” and this “story” looks like a clip from a cheap TVB drama.

And, yes, that’s an oxymoron.

But here we have a great first bite of a young band that is musically more than adept and with the good sense to know how a decently produced video can only help- and complement- their music.

Looking forward to hearing the rest of the tracks on the band’s new EP titled “Reasons And Devices”.
