It’s Cups Day on Sunday at Shatin with the running of The Steward’s Cup and the Hong Kong Classic Mile, the latter always being a good guide to runners that will contest- and can win- the Hong Kong Derby.
As with any Cup race in Hong Kong, one has to follow horses from the stable of John Moore who has The best record in these big races.
Moore has some of the biggest owners in town who are willing to invest in very good horses whereas you also have a very astute trainer who targets these races meticulously and has his horses primed for these big days.
In the Classic Mile, he has Designs On Rome and Able Friend entered- both more than capable of running the quinella- and to find out more about them and other runners on the day, download the new Racing Touch app from the iStore onto your iPad and do a bit of fun “homework.”
In the meantime, Glorious Days is certain to start the favorite in the Group One Stewards Cup and all eyes will be on the old partnership of Douglas Whyte and John Size to see if this jockey-trainer team will have a glorious day of their own- for old times sake.
