Doing things differently is always good.
But what if doing things “differently” has no impact?
Is it all about how something new is released?
But not how interest in a release is sustained?
Does writing about these “releases” detract from the music?
Is it all just something to keep the world tweetering for a few days?
We read this piece on the new releases by Coldplay and Lou Reed/Metallica and thought, Huh?

What about the music, we asked ourselves?
And then we gulped when we heard Rihanna is on one track on the Coldplay album.

Where are they, us, going with all of this?
Is it all about technology these days?
Will this enhance the quality of the music?
Or have distribution channels become more important than the product?
Or is this something only being hyped by the music media?
Perhaps they don’t know better?
Technology writers are everywhere.
But where, today, are the music writers?
