Instead, this insult to television and creativity- not to say that HKTVB and NOWTV are much better- are asking staff to “volunteer” and participate and join a protest today outside government headquarters.

This ATV protest is against the recent decision by the Communications Authority to have the station remove James Shing Pan-yu, below, by Monday after he helped facilitate “undue interference” from long-time investor in the station’s day-to-day operations. ATV was also fined a measly $1m.

In plain English, there was something dodgy going on and it was stopped.
Now ATV is breaking its arse and making a song and dance against the judgement.
Frankly, the Hong Kong public don’t give two hoots. ATV is a crap station producing shows on shoe-string budgets and unable to even broadcast the horse racing without cocking it up.

If anything, Hong Kong should protest AGAINST ATV, HKTVB and those clowns at NOW TV for lazy programing and purchasing the cheapest possible programming to fill in the empty air time.
