How were we to know?
We met celebrity female DJ Casey Connor around two years ago in Taiwan.
She was one of those artists which a company called Shine brought together as part of the Hennessy Artistry series.
This odd musical smorgasbord included Connor, singer-songwriter Stewart Mac and Jolin Tsai.
It was not only an odd musical smorgasbord; it was a very odd life lesson.
Frankly, no one gave two bits about Mac or Connor.
The audience comprised mainly of hard-assed Hennessy sales people and they were there to see Taiwanese midget and singing diva Jolin Tsai.
Casey Connor did some “DJ-ing” and the audiences gawked and were unmoved.
After performing at this event, she did a gig at M1NT in Shanghai – but not before going through some huge visa problems – and then that, we thought, was it.
But now comes this: And all we can say is, Good for you, Casey…
A biopic produced by Disney?
Sure beats dealing with Shine and scratching and sniffing onstage to an audience who didn’t give a damn.
