In reply to “$10 bucks Warner will join in 2012…”

Hmmm, meh.
iTunes has been out for 8 nearly 9 years now.
Hard to unseat them.
We’ll see.
I don’t think Google gives a shit really if they beat iTunes.
This is only to sell more android devices.
Nobody buys music anymore.
Music is passive.
People want to interact with their friends through an app across town etc.
This is where Gen WTF is willing to pay a few bucks.
They spend their money on gadgets that just happen to store music.
iPad and iPhone sales are approx 16x more than sales of iPods.
I think iPods will eventually just cease to exist.
I mean, fuck, with the iPhone 4s, we can now

Have I missed anything?
Notice all of these is you interacting with something.
Listening to music is the only one you’re supposed to do while sitting on ur ass, or doing passively listen while you’re doing the others.
20-30 years ago, Music WAS the THING.
Put on a record, spark a fat one, listen and talk about it with your friends
Now we’ve got too many other things to distract us..
I honestly can’t see anything that’s going to save the music bizz.
The big music companies are all still fighting for a piece of the pie that nobody is interested in anymore.
We’ve moved to a new sandbox.
They’re still scratching away in that one over there that has a hole in it.
I forget who said it but “we just loved making music, the fact that we actually made money from it was pure fluke”
If my kids want to learn music I’ll teach them.
But if they say they want a career in music, they’re gonna get a clip around the ear .
“No, ya bloody not! Sit in front of this computer and get frikin programming, I want an app that tells me where to buy the cheapest toilet role”
