EURO-BALLER’S TOP PICKS FOR THE WEEKEND (OCT 15-16)

1. Wigan Athletic vs Bolton Wanderers (EPL, Oct 15 – 10.00pm HKT)

This weekend sees the less glamourous edition of the Greater Manchester Derby as 18th place Wigan play host to bottom of the league Bolton – a seemingly “relegation six-pointer” even at this early stage in the EPL season.

Things really can’t get much worse for Owen Coyle’s men as The Trotters have slumped to their worst start to a league campaign in 109 years.

It’s gonna get worse before it gets better for Bolton as they won’t be able to take anything away from Wigan this weekend.

Prediction – Wigan: Home Win

2. Middlesboro’ vs Millwall (ED1, Oct 15 – 10.00pm HKT)

Boro’ have been held to 0-0 draws in their last three games against Ipswich, Leicester and Reading, respectively.

Against a Millwall side that are a bit of a “soft touch” away from the New Den, expect Boro’ to get back to winning ways and for the goal-machine that is Marvin Emnes to get on the scoresheet.

Prediction – Middlesboro: Home Win

3. Auxerre vs Lille (Ligue 1, Oct 16 – 1.00am HKT)

After nine rounds of the Ligue 1 campaign, Auxerre are still undefeated at home and Lille also remain undefeated playing away.

Champions Lille will have one-eye on their big mid-week UCL clash against Inter Milan and they will be happy to settle for a point at Auxerre.

Prediction – Draw

4. West Brom vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (EPL , Oct 16 – 7.00pm HKT)

After flying out of the gates with 7 points from their first three games, Mick McCarthy’s Wolves side have slumped to four defeats in a row in the EPL.

West Brom aren’t exactly going great shakes themselves with just 5 points to show for their efforts thus far.

But the partnership of Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long up front, should be enough to unlock the Wolves defence and secure the first home win of the season for The Baggies

Prediction – West Brom: Home Win

5. Arsenal vs Sunderland (EPL, Oct 16 – 8.30pm HKT)

After last round’s bitter 2-1 defeat to Spurs in the White Hart Lane installment of the North London Derby, The Gunners really do need to start accumulating points in the league.

If not, the club’s 14 year consecutive qualification run for the UCL may come to an abrupt end this season, should they fail to finish in the top four places.

Fortunately for them, a win in this round will just be a formality as the striker-less and under-pressure Sunderland team are Sunday’s visitors to The Emirates.

Strikers Nicklas Bendtner is on loan from Arsenal, so he cannot play against his “mother” club, Asamoah Gyan has been farmed out to the Middle-East and both the youngsters Connor Wickham and Frazier Campbell are injured.

Prediction – Arsenal: Home win

The new way of looking at horse racing

The world of entertainment today is vast, it cannot be defined, it is intertwined and has become one. One cannot, for example, have music without fashion- and vice versa. Rock Stars, supermodels, actors and actresses and sports heroes have formed Mutual Admiration Societies.

On www.fasttrack.hk, you will see Who’s In, Who’s Out, What’s Hot and What’s Not- in Hong Kong and the rest of the world- in English and Chinese. It’s all ballsy stuff that breaks new ground and tells it like it is. The gloves are off.

Fast Track is the authority and driving force to steer you along the edgy road to this new world of entertainment.. Of course, there will be our opinions- off-the-wall, to-the-point and no waffle.

More important to us is what you think. Really think. Agree, disagree, or tell us to take a hike. As long as it’s a hike on the fast track of life, it doesn’t matter.
