It’s one of those very rare Sunday meetings at Happy Valley this weekend and made even more special by the first appearance by Brazilian riding Superstar Joao Moreira as a full-time rider in Hong Kong, a huge coup by Steve Railton of the HKJC Licensing Committee to get the Magic Man out here.
On the racing front- and as expected, Chadwick will be riding on Roman Legend (R8 – #9) for trainer Tony Cruz who has a great record of transferring his Shatin success with his horses to Happy Valley.
Then again, being Hong Kong’s Champion Jockey for so many years, Tony knows both tracks like no one else and never uses Happy Valley as a “testing ground” or to play games with the handicapper.
He plays to win while being at Happy Valley to see Joao Moreira on his first day in Hong Kong will add to a great afternoon out.
