(Seems Like Everyone Wants To Be Him)
Guess he has been dead long enough for some to proclaim the new Michael Jackson. First, Jay-Z did by saying that this “new Michael Jackson” would be his wife Beyonce. Then came the ubiquitous and overrated Will i. am exclaiming that Justin Bieber could be the “new Michael Jackson”.
Will I Am just consolidated himself as being an A One Idiot.
What none of these numbnuts understand is that no artists for very many many years will come even within sniffing distance of creating something as brilliant as “Billie Jean.”
And let’s never forget Producer Quincy Jones’ role in that song and the guitar playing of the great Steve Lukather.
But it was Michael Jackson who made the track- that voice, those screams and, when it came out, that video.
If MTV could have had their way, this historic video would have been relegated to the “R&B” video list.
It was then-Sony chief Walter Yentikoff who played hard-ball with the channel: Do that, he had said, and I’ll pull every music video by my white Rock artists- and so, MTV relented and showed “Billie Jean” on High Rotation.
Michael Jackson gave the world The Moonwalk. He gave us “Beat It” and “Thriller” and “Bad”. He was “Black Or White” and teased the media as to who “Dirty Diana” was.
He was weird, he was whacko, he was black, he was white and he was the World’s Greatest Entertainer.

Even when with the Jackson 5, he was someone special and it was that voice at that time which gave the world some of the greatest Pop music.

There will never be “another” or a “new” Michael Jackson just like there will never be “a new” Elvis, Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, Jim Morrison, or Madonna.
Let the hype stop along with the comparisons and someone give the world something new.
We’ve been waiting for this something new for way too long and settling for sloppy seconds.
