The new way of looking at horse racing

HAVE A JOLLY JOLLY ZAC ATTACK NEW YEAR’S DAY, SAYS THE FAST TRACKER

MORE MAGIC 1

Race 1 9-3-5-11-13

JOLLY JOLLY 1

Walk over to Hay Market, grab a table and hit the buffet table. Just flirt with this and the next three races. Save the grey matter for later. Interesting to watch though just to see if Douglas Whyte who rides Dragon Glory (9) can break a rather long losing streak and silence his critics who behaved like peasants on Sunday with their boos and chorus of “Diiiiiuuuus”. People have short memories. And angry punters talk loudly through their pockets. Pathetic.

Race 5 1-3-4-11

The first leg of a huge Triple Trio jackpot up for grabs with Leading Horse (1) and Unicorn (3) being the logical choices. But logic and horse racing make strange bedfellows whereas if things go according to script, we’ll all be backing the same horses and getting back scraps as a return on investment. What to do? Take one Triple Trio with the favourites as double bankers onto 3-4 longshots, and cover this with a bet using something around 8 to 12s as a banker with five legs for a smaller layout. Confused?

Race 6 2-3-14-8

JOLLY JOLLY 8

Who Else But You (2) looks extremely hard to beat, but don’t leave Lucky Profit (14) out of calculations.

Race 7 8-4-6-12

The last leg of the Triple Trio, which looks a trappy affair where the best laid plans can come horribly undone.

With some real speedsters here, it just might set things up for something coming off the pace. John Moore is talking up his very disappointing Not Listening Tome- and sounding increasingly like Lady GaiGai these days- and with the same response from racing fans:

Race 9 5-2-11-4

JOLLY JOLLY 11

Another Purton-Moreira Quinella.

Race 10 8-10-14-1

JOLLY JOLLY 12

This looks like being an easy win for The Zac Attack aboard Jolly Jolly (8) with the Quinella leg being Eastern Express. A very good third Double Trio to tackle using these double bankers onto five legs in this first leg. The second leg looks full of value. See below.

Race 11 14-1-12-3

Don’t let the jockey booking (Alex Lai) and wide barrier draw (12) put you off backing Déjà Vu. The galloper has won with blinkers on in Wyong, and a recent barrier trial (with blinkers on for the first time in Hong Kong), where it won by a yawning eight lengths points to Déjà Vu repeating its Wyong winning ways.

So Fast (1) with Moreira up will be the one most will be thinking is the one to beat, but carrying top weight, and not being a galloper that shows that much upside, makes it hard to have on a win line. With a huge Quartet top off for this race, I would be taking 1-14 as double bankers onto five legs including Magnetism (4) and Aerospeed (12).
