What’s the difference between Happy Valley and Shatin?
Around a half-hour trip by either taxi or the MTR.
Oh, and also a more stylish end to the week as most race days in Shatin are on Sundays.
So, instead of staying in trying to sleep off a hangover, do the following:
Forget about “hanging out” at all those “duuuuuude” clubs down Wyndham Street and where you meet more “dudes.”
To be honest, Hong Kong has more and more “Duuuuude” club and bars and restaurants popping up and where the company is equally boring and the pickings are slim- for men and women.
Sure, beggars can’t be losers- but why be losers all the f***ing time?
Frankly, forget about “hanging out” anywhere in Hong Kong for just one Saturday.
Seriously, when was the last time you got “lucky”- and what the hell did they look like?
Trying to erase the thought?

So, stay in one Saturday, and get your mates together for A Day At The Races in Shatin.
Make a real day- and night- of it.
No need to get there bang in time for Race 1- but it helps. It could be Beginner’s Luck.
Next, no need to stay until the last race- though it helps- so leave after race 8 or race 9- and head out for some drinks.
