We have very little idea where she came from and not much about her, but this 34-year-old Swedish-born jockey is certainly making her presence felt in New South Wales.
Yesterday, she celebrated her birthday by out-toughening out the very tough Nash Rawiller in a finish to win on a horse called Cantonese which, jeez, must have some kinda Hong Kong or Chinese connection.
Though 34 is not exactly “young” for a “new” jockey, we hear that Jenny Duggan only became a professional jockey after winning the 2011/2012 Newcastle Apprenticeship with a phenomenal strike rate- and a strike rate that is being just as effective for her as a senior jockey riding against the very best senior jockeys in NSW.
