Of course, the highlight on Sunday will be the clash between Akeed Mofeed and Military Attack and the training and riding skills of Richard Gibson and John Moore and Douglas Whyte and Joao Moreira, respectively.
Whereas the team of Gibson, Whyte and owner Pan Sutong have moved according to script with Akeed Mofeed, the same can’t be said about Military Attack.
After four disappointing runs, Moore has replaced the galloper’s regular rider Zac Purton with Joao Moreira, a move, which if we are to believe the Chinese racing media, has angered owner Steven Lo.
Whether Moore has made the right decision will be watched by many trainers who would want to woo the big-spending owner to their stable in case Military Attack disappoints.
As for Akeed Mofeed, Richard Gibson sticks with a winning formula whereas Whyte continues this season to focus on the big Group races, which is probably why he rode such a shocker on Wednesday night aboard race favorite Jazzy Feeling- another galloper in the Gibson yard.
