Sure, most Asians dislike other Asians and which is why this region has always been a popular dumping grounds for many useless expats whereas in Hong Kong, racism mixed with paranoia, appears to have hit our constabulary.

This is “trending” at a time when “graft busters” have suddenly woken up and are finally nabbing all those government rich blokes who have made hay while the sun has shone for decades.

Recently, the weather has been bloody awful and has rained on the parades of many and those left with “loopholes” in their creative accounting.

The still tainted and girlie man Henry Tang, who had his missus cop all the guilt for the illegal structures in the basement of their luxury home advising development chief Paul Chan to “come clean” about some conflict of interest- there are soooo many of these today- and with the usual protesters marching to call for- what else?- his resignation, is just farcical.
Puhleeeze, Henry, shhhhh- and just go on a long holiday for a while. I really doubt Paul Chan will be wanting you in his corner.

Amidst all this, a Nepalese friend of mine had finished his daily workout, he was feeling fresh, he had a new spring in his step and was on his way to the two restaurants he owns when stopped by a plain clothed policeman.
It was 11am, this happened in Central and what was the matter? The copper wanted to know if my friend was a Filipino and if so, was he a domestic helper. And if he was, what next?

Not one to turn the other cheek, my friend showed his ID Card, told the copper he had been in Hong Kong for twenty years, took down his interrogator’s number and asked something very pertinent: Would he have been stopped if white? Good question, but no answer.

I don’t really understand any of this having seen uniformed constables turn a blind eye to that group of Nigerians openly selling cocaine down those stairs on Wyndham Street that lead to the clubs Gekko and The Drop and outside Carnegie’s in Wanchai while carving up their business at a dingy club at the end of Peel Street which is nicknamed “Little Nigeria”.

There’s a new pox to Hong Kong life: young, outta work Pakistanis who make the trek over from the bowels of Chunking Mansions in Kowloon.
(Source: Wiki)
Two Pakistanis were recently arrested for the botched kidnap of a rich businessman but these pariahs walk the same streets where the Nigerians take their walks on the wild side looking for fights and whispering that they are “guns for hire.”

When we see how Hong Kong’s immigration officers treat innocent women from the sub-continent and other countries in Asia and yet allow in these Nigerian and Pakistani louts, tough questions must be asked.
As for coppers harassing and embarrassing innocent Hong Kong Belongers because of ignorant stereotyping is racism that must be stamped out.
Stories like THIS should make the front pages of newspapers and not another piece of news about some new government official who has been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
