While many of us wait for the Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte starring and Michael “Miami Vice”Mann-directed “Luck” to appear on television screens on HBO, we hear that a spate of horse racing-themed movies and even reality shows based around the “Sport Of Kings” are being planned or are already in production.
In Australia, many are said to fighting to gain the exclusive Rights for a movie about the brilliant Black Caviar.

We have to wonder who’ll play the role of the mare’s trainer Peter Moody?
Any ideas apart from Robert Hoskins?
Also in the works are movies on America’s great Zenyatta and the UK’s current super-horse Frankel.
On the subject of Zenyatta, we wonder who’ll play the role of horse breeder and former music executive who sold the horse as a yearling to another former music executive in Jerry Moss for a “measly” US$60k?
Named after the third record by the Police and which were signed to A&M Records, the label started by Moss and Herb Alpert, we hear that the music for Zenyatta: The Movie will include work by all three members of the band.
Three production houses in Singapore are said to be in discussions about a film and/or TV series based on the city’s champion galloper Rocket Man.
Who can possibly play the horse’s regular jockey Felix Coetzee?
Animal Planet has been screening the excellent reality series called “Jockeys” and now- from what we hear – shows “inspired” by this series will be making their way online.
Also, does anyone remember a very underrated and small-budget movie called “Let It Ride”?
Some think it to be “small and forgettable.”
To each their own.

But this has now been Green Lighted for production in mid-2012.
