RACE 9 The Zac Attack was in good form when being interviewed by Tom Woods for that Hong Kong Jockey Club production with all the bells, whistles and kazoos that is the venerable tipping show, “Racing To Win”, hosted by the latest trio of Three Amigos, all, very good guys doing their best.

Question: Are viewers of “Racing To Win” almost suffocated with superfluous content considering that the little box marked 1, and which we only just discovered, is a shorter and more scooby doo be doo snappy, zappy version of the rather over-inflated main show? You know what they say about flogging a dead horse…

Getting back to Tom Wood and the interview with Zac, it had us wondering whether owners would like the chances of their horses discussed by the race jockey on television, especially if their chargers have been set for a bet.

Still, the champion rider was allowed enough rein to be informative and professional without being drawn into anything close to a firm commitment regarding the winning chances of his ride in this race- top weight Beauty Fit.

Some in Oz might remember the galloper as Barocha when racing in Victoria and the subject of a very successful plunge on its debut at Sale and with the tip shouted and text from rooftops.

From fixed win odds of 6-1, the four year old gelding trained by Clayton Douglas with Jamie Kah aboard started at odds on and lived up to this confidence with almost a five length win.

The galloper won its next start at Geelong following which Barocha was sold to Hong Kong for an extremely tidy profit for a AUS$12,000 purchase for the galloper’s connections in Australia involving our old mate Tony Vasil.

Back in Hong Kong and the chances of the recently christened Beauty Fit, it was for viewers to glean the horse’s chances from what Mr “Pundon” had to say.

Our take? Not for us. Definitely a place chance, but we’ll wait for this new Beauty at Shatin. It’s the wrong fit at Happy Valley tonight, at least to us, in what is a highly competitive race.
