Let me be straight: I don’t think Zac Purton or Douglas Whyte will ride a winner tonight. With Neil Callan on the sidelines, i think that forgotten man of Hong Kong racing who is again getting rides from John Moore- who else is there?- can score in races 4 and 8.

It’s weird to think of Prebble as a replacement jockey. Perhaps he’s thinking of leaving Hong Kong- this time for good? Or he has fallen out of favor with trainers?
Whatever it is, he is not riding like the jockey possessed of a few years ago when almost clinching the Jockeys Premiership title.
When I passed by them today, many of the local jockeys were chattering that tonight was going to be their night- the same night when the much-advertised but totally uninteresting 1010 Million Challenge for punters holds one more of its designated races.
If anyone think regular racegoers give a toss about this Challenge they are nuttier than Mark Liversidge of 1010.
