The recent win of Super Jockey at Shatin after its transfer and first start for the Tony Millard stable was one of the biggest tips going around- and with Taris Teetan on its back, it won like a good thing should.
It was a great training effort by Millard, his hard-working wife Bev who rides track work for the team and Assistant Trainer Carole Yu.
It was a yawning win for which Super Jockey has gone up 14 rating points which is not so super.
It races again on Wednesday with a quick backup- this time at Happy Valley over 1200 metres and where it faces course and distance winners Tour De Force and Perfect Finish.
The question is whether the improvement it showed for Millard at Shatin will also be seen at the city track.
Tony Millard has a very good record of switching his horses from Shatin to Happy Valley as when he has a fit horse on his hands, he needs to race them.
Horses don’t win staying in their stables and it looks as if the astute trainer has found another perfect race for this newcomer to his stable.
