We are so glad that the Australian A-League soccer season is underway – in fact, starting last weekend.
We enjoy keeping track of our favourite A-League and Japanese J-League teams and having a flutter on them.
And why not?
Their matches are played at the most punter-friendly times for us in Hong Kong and Asia– usually kicking off in the afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Brisbane Roar are the defending Champions, winning the A-League for the first time in the club’s history and defeating the Central Coast Mariners in the “most dramatic ever” A-League Grand Final – back in March.
It will be interesting to see if the Roar can retain the Championship this season, especially with two super high-profile Socceroos returning home from Europe to add much star flair to their already-glamourous A-League teams respectively – Harry Kewell joining Melbourne Victory from Galatasary and Brett Emerton joining Sydney FC from Blackburn Rovers.

The Roar roared forward with a tidy 1-0 home win to start the new season, whilst Sydney FC and The Victory – playing each other – shared the spoils with a 0-0 draw on Saturday.
Though expecting a strong challenge from Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory and Central Coast Mariners this campaign, we are still confidently tipping Brisbane Roar to make A-League history by becoming the first side to retain the A-League Champion’s crown.
