Sparks flew from one side of the table recently when a certain “well-traveled” American chef who has made cameo appearances in a few well-known Hong Kong bars and restaurants went on and on about organic food and an “organic restaurant” he has managed to convince his latest investor – a young, enthusiastic Chinese guy- is THE new thing. Hmmm.

Anyway, tired of hearing this prattle and hum, the Shanghai-based Club owner piped in with a timely, “You Americans are the cause for crap food around the world with your fads and ‘con-fusion’ dishes. Who in Hong Kong gives a toss about ‘organic’ or sardonic but hats off for conning a naive investor.”

So is this “organic” restaurant doing well. The place is packed but nowhere did we see anyone actually eating.
Again, however, another example of how a white skin and lack of grey matter but with the gift of the gab is still considered gold by many dumbass Chinese with too much money and shit for brains.

Our friends at the Kebab House next to Drop in Central must be doing well: They will be expanding the delights of tasting the best and most value-for-money Bryani is town to Kowloon where two outlets will soon be open- one in Ashley Road.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian coke dealers down that street and sitting at the top of the stairs have, like germs, multiplied.
Most pathetic to watch are our fearless Blue Berets walking right by them- and doing nothing to them- but demanding to see the IDs of other nationalities. And when the Blue Berets go off duty at 3am, the place becomes Little Nigeria.

Here’s hoping the Amiko Hairstyling Bar starts doing some business soon at their new location in quiet Lower Elgin Street.
To date, there have been months of free styling for anyone but no business and more staff than customers.

An official opening is planned for the 25th of this month- a big bash where over five hundred people are meant to show up.
Let’s just hope it’s a tad more happening than the recent bore of a party held by the W Hotel. What a bloody waste of time THAT was.

Let’s also hope that the Amiko Big Bang Theory is more than empty bells and whistles and some head turners will walk outta the hairy bar- but not like hairy crabs.
