Could this be the battle of the 10-pound claimers?
RACE 5 3-5-11-7
RACE 6 4-3-7-1
RACE 7 6-4-8-11
Be VERY careful of taking So Fast one out in your Six Up. The galloper is hardly the finished article.
RACE 8 8-4-2-1
RACE 9
Quartet (2-3)-1-4-5-6-9-11
I cannot see last start winner Lucky Day even running a place. Frankly, to me, he’s an overrated horse that needs an outside barrier and the hard urgings of Neil Callan. He’s had his birthday for this season.
RACE 10 Quartet (2-11)-3-4-5-8-14
Anyone who still has doubts that Gerald Mosse is a world class Group 1 winning jockey should go back and watch his ride on Bullish Luck on Wednesday. He not only pinched the race, he dismissed the efforts of Moreira on Superoi to peg him back with an arrogance that was nonchalant.
To think he almost didn’t receive a license to ride in Hong Kong until receiving a last-minute reprieve to be the retained jockey for the stable of Manfred KL Man is something that makes one think of those who wanted this to happen and break into Do Wah Diddy Diddy.
Not having Monsieur Mosse riding here would have been Hong Kong’s loss. He adds so much to the city’s United Nations Of Racing- flair, intelligence, humour, charisma, a huge nose, and, on subjects to do with size, the huge responsibility of being one of the world’s greatest swordsmen known for his rapier-like wit and ability to charm the pants off women.
In this race, he rides Spicy Sure for Man over Midnight Rattler, and though he might not win what is a pretty open last leg to the Six Up, he should be taken as the banker or double banker with Invincible Fresh (11) in Quartet bets.
