The new way of looking at horse racing

THE FAST TRACKER TIPS A COLD AND WET NIGHT

THE FAST TRACKER TIPS A COLD AND WET NIGHT 1

Race 1

Call me superstitious, but whenever Dougie Whyte rides anything for Sean Woods, I have a dreadful day on the punt, and here, he rides Woodsy’s Highland Dragon- drawn 12 over 1000 meters. Pen please.

The two I like on a win line- and drawn reasonably well are front runners Mr Award and, especially, Trillion Treasure with The Magic Man up after his five-timer on Sunday which could easily have been a 7-Up.

I don’t care who and what wins as long as it’s not Kharu, which will then mean seeing that notorious photo bomber and serial bragger with the skunk coloured hair-Nat Chan-lead in his horse.

Race 3

As I have been saying, this season, the first leg of the Six Up has always seen the favourite flop while one at odds bob up. At least tonight, with only seven runners, take the whole field and at least stay in the game and see how you do in the second leg of the Six Up though Charity Joy with Douglas Whyte up looks the winner. And what about the old boy’s ride to win on Full Talent, below, not to mention his win on All You Wish in that not-so-Divine Calling race? Amazing stuff from a jockey some say is “past it”. Oh, puhleese.

Race 4

Baltic Warrior won easily on this track recently and “Donkey” Callan sticks with it. It might have had conditions to suit that night.

Though it’s got to be included in all Triple Trio bets, I prefer the lightly weighted Tomodachi and Silver Dragon whereas the other main chances in this 1200 meters race are all drawn wide.

SELECTIONS: 5-2-9-7

Race 5

Stag Knight won with a leg in the air at its last start, but there are those stag nights when nothing much happens and I worry that the last win might have been a fluke.

THE FAST TRACKER TIPS A COLD AND WET NIGHT 11

Moreira sticks with it and it will start favourite and could easily demolish this field, but I would rather have either Wild Boy or Hit The Bid on a win line.

SELECTIONS: 1-3-7-2

Race 6

There’s so much chopping and changes of jockeys in this race, it’s enough to give one more whiplash than Linda Blair in “The Exorcist”.

Purely for odds and as they have had some dainty rides where they’ve still managed to finish close to the winner, China Delight, Loving Star and Dragon Bachelor appeal. The favourite will be on that voodoo mix of Whyte and Woods who combine with Oxford Charley, but despite form on this track, pass me the garlic and keep it away from me.

Race 7

Redwood Baby has a quick backup, Moreira sticks with it, it’s sure to start favourite and if it’s ever going to win a race, this is it as the opposition is extremely weak. The horse to keep safe is The Sylph which should relish this distance as it has won over this distance in Victoria.

SELECTIONS: 6-7-3-11

Race 8

If the rain keeps away, The Prince must be included as it can get to the front for lover boy Umberto Rispoli on the C+3 Course that has always favoured front runners- at least last season and before the track was “enhanced” and the old drainage system removed.

BEST BET: A cold and wet night. NEXT BEST: Oxford Charley will not win. VALUE BET: A box of char siu fan in the Beer Garden
