The Guru will keep things short and sweet this week on quite a boring card of racing.
I reckon, it will be day when a number of short-priced favourites will salute. Or should salute.
Few races will offer much value and the odds are that if any upsets are to happen and shock us all, they might happen late in the day- in Races 9 and Races 10.
Of the jockeys to do well, it will be the usual suspects- Douglas Whyte, Brett Prebble and Gerard Mosse.
I have a few concerns when Whyte is on “shorties”, but when on “shorties” for trainer John Size, he comes through.
Today, with news that the ride on Ambitious Dragon has gone back to Maxime Guyon, the “Durban Demon” should be pumped up- and pissed off- enough to ride at least 3 winners- but at very short prices.
If looking for odds, perhaps look at quinellas and tierces.
I am hoping that Greg Cheyne who, I hear won’t be staying in Hong Kong for much longer, comes through on Suisse D’Or in race 4- in a placing- and that Mark Du Plessis does the same in the last with St Didar.
Again, I comes to Race 9.
If Prebble, this time on Summer Dash has one of his famous slow starts, well, watch out for something like Ho Ho Life or Burgundy Mac upsetting the apple cart.
Happy Punting and if you see anything “interesting”, let me know.
