For the next three consecutive Wednesdays, Happy Wednesday is Turning Japanese!
What this means for you…
Apart from everything that always makes a Happy Wednesday a Happy Wednesday, we’re serving up everything Japanese- chicken and beef teriyaki, sabo noodles, sukiyaki, Kirin Beer, traditional dancers and drummers, flown in direct from Japan, the new era of “sake”, kimonos, competitions that ask you to be creative, and offer you the chance to win tickets for two to the Land of The Rising Sun…and more fun throughout Happy Valley Racecourse than even the happiest Hello Kitty.
To go with the Turning Japanese theme, the Beer Garden and Adrenaline will play host to performances by traditional performers from Japan- exciting drummers, and the elegance and style of dancers. We all need a little culture in our lives. And Japanese culture is one of the most diverse, unique, and eclectic.
MORE-ira featuring Rita Thao will be back at the Beer Garden on January 13 performing, amongst current hits, their versions of the Vapors’ classic called- what else?- “Turning Japanese”, and Kyu Sakamoto’s “Sukiyaki”, the only record in Japanese to top the Billboard 100. When was that? 1963!

Racing to win- and having FUN! How it works…
In more simple terms, the Treble is to pick the winners of the last three races, starting from Race 6.
A tip: This can be a fun way to try and win BIG by pooling your resources with friends. The more choices, the bigger the outlay, so take the following as a guide: The Six Up tonight commences from Race 3 to Race 8. If you and your friends pick two horses in each race- 2x2x2x2x2x2- this will cost the team HK$640 for a $10 ticket. Too expensive? Take the Six Up for $5, which will cost you HK$320. Or take it for even $2. The key is to have fun by winning with friends!

Omen Lucky-San Bet
Surely, this can’t get better than to end the night with Golden Chopsticks (2) in Race 8?
Another horse running tonight with a Japanese-influenced name is Pearl Warm Warm (8) in Race 5. Japanese pearls, get it?

What’s In A Name? (Your Racing Riddle for tonight)
What better than a Novel Start to get you off to a winning start along with a Master Viking having Fun Forever?
Follow that Good Luck Man in Race 2, who might zoom by in his Spitfire.
Then, try to Win It, but be careful that a Foodie and Jaeger Bomb don’t spoil the Race 3 party.
Before Race 4, you might run into the Star Of Bond and Sir John at the Beer Garden while a Smart Union could be around the corner together with a Winasyouwish.
On what could be a chilly evening, hang out during Race 5 on this Happy Wednesday with those with a Happy Spirit.. and stay close to those with a Pearl Warm Warm– whatever that is.
Sticking with things happy on a Happy Wednesday, you could get lucky in Race 6 if you bump into a Happy Rocky.
At Adrenaline during Race 7, check out the Top Act onstage and all the Rainbow Chic around.
End the night with a Romantic Touch by having an E-Super night and winning a pair of Golden Chopsticks, thanks to a Flying Moochi.
