Who knew the Hong Kong Government has an ongoing “Dare To Dream” policy?
A POLICY???
Where? How? Why?
Is this coming outta taxpayers’ money and just as “effective” as other government “initiatives” like the total waste of time that is CreateHK and the rinky dink work churned out by InvestHK and the HKTA while Singapore keeps kicking Hong Kong’s arse when it comes to tourism and cutting through the red tape?
We only heard about this “Dare To Dream” policy as a throwaway footnote to a very lengthy and expansive piece in the SCMP on the proposed Hong Kong football academy.
The plans for this was first tabled in 2003 and is still plodding along with- wait for it- 38- THIRTY EIGHT- different government departments involved in the approval process.
Good gawd!
One has to wonder just how many changes in talking heads have taken place amongst these 38- THIRTY EIGHT- different government departments and if this means having to keep re-starting the engine every time someone new comes on board?
Signs of Yes, Minister and Monty Python and with no one willing to make a fucking decision, let alone, er, “dare to dream”?
