Yes, The Kebab House next to Drop is still doing a roaring trade though one hears that its two sister outlets in Kowloon are going down the gurgler.
Still, I couldn’t help but smile at those who frequent the original outlet coming up to me and my friend and screaming to us that they have “the best kebabs in the world.”
Well, in Hong Kong, yes, though watch out for Babu which is opening right next to The Kebab House.
With the rent at the venue said to be extremely little, it has been snapped up by Mr Sharma, the well-known restaurateur who owns Marouche, the Lebanese restaurant right opposite The Kebab House and is a shareholder of Restoration and the club Raiyne which is under new management.
What’s Babu?
According to Mr Sharma, it will be a “more high quality” version of The Kebab House- “better chicken, fresh salads and competitive prices.”
All well and good, but this area of Hong Kong MUST be cleaned up as it’s looking more and more like Little Nigeria with cocaine dealers rampant and some real losers devaluing the price of property.
