The new way of looking at horse racing

THE ROUSE

Rouse (n.): to awaken, stir, call, incite anger against apathy, inspire action.

“The Rouse is a bugle call most often associated with the military in Commonwealth countries. The Rouse would be played to get soldiers out of bed.”

The Rouse will bring Fasttrack readers musical content that should not go unnoticed.

It serves to coax discriminating ears out of young listeners and drag cynical old farts out of musical apathy to do a double take on talent worthy of attention.

Rouser: Sleeping at Last

Before the Bon Iver cabin fever hit, there was Sleeping at Last.

Fronted by lone permanent band member Ryan O’Neal, this band from Illinois has been charting instrumentation territory that allows for anything but slumber.

You’ve got to have got some musical balls if you commit to releasing one EP per month for an entire year, which is exactly what SaL did with Yearbook http://sleepingatlast.com/indv.html Have a listen to Birthright from the March EP and I dare you to not to feel like a lazy arse.

Seriously, an EP of this quality for each month of the year. Face melt.
