Hong Kong racing fans can get The Year of The Horse off to a flier by backing a few winners on Sunday’s Chinese New Year meeting at Shatin- an eleven race card that starts at 12.30pm.
Though many will be following Hong Kong racing’s new pinup boy- brilliant Brazilian jockey Joao Moreira- give some thought to the highlight race on the card- The Centenary Vase.
The favorite for this Group 3 race will be Akeed Mofeed with Douglas Whyte aboard for powerful owner Pan Sutong, which be using this run as its final prep race before running in Dubai.
Having said this, keep an eye on the John Moore-trained Dan Excel which ran a blinder recently under Neil Callan to come within a nostril hair of winning its last start.
All information on these horses, their trainers, their jockeys and every one of Sunday’s eleven race card can be found on Racing Touch, the easy to follow app that can be downloaded onto your iPad from the iTunes store.
