That WAS Entertainment.
This IS Entertainment!

Gigs, Pop/Rock concerts have almost become too much of a good thing.
At least it is in many parts of Asia these days where there are a number of gigs taking place – sometimes one after the other.
Many either simply cannot afford to take in all these, or forget about them as it’s all starting to look and sound the same.
Meanwhile, the big casinos in Macau are bringing in full-scale shows.
Cirque De Soleil started things rolling.
Today, more and more shows are being brought to Macau’s many casino – big, lavish productions and aimed at the entire family.
With all this in mind, we heard from Frank Boehm Inc.
The shows his company produce are pretty extraordinary.
Plus we wanted to share the following with you …
FRANK BOEHM, INC. Extraordinary entertainment. Practical application.
GameStop Cast of 42
A standing ovation greeted a show we created to introduce the “Batman Arkham City” video game at the recent GameStop convention in Las Vegas (Eventmakers).
A cast of 42, led by DJ/Percussion and Electric Violin, mesmerized the audience of 5,000.
We reprise the show next week in Anaheim with a cast of 22 for Best Buys.
Despite the GameStop and Best Buys’ shows, event entertainment continues to trend small.
The “No entertainment” Proposal
Even when proposed event entertainment is focused and message-driven, companies sometimes find it difficult to justify.
So, we suggest thinking about message-driven entertainment in ways that allow us to say:
“We’re not proposing entertainment. What we are proposing is delivering your messaging in a way that the audience will remember and recall long after the meeting. If it’s also highly entertaining, all the better.”
A Few “No Entertainment” Ideas We Like • Spoken Word
Messaging is memorable and fun, delivered in meter and rhyme.
Spoken Word works with as few as two, or as part of a much larger show – we’ve integrated Central Station, our Action Artist, Trevor Carlton, and even used it into B’Ball Slam shows. It also works in two or more simultaneous languages.

• The Morphos Projekt
Based on the simple idea that the common language of popular culture can tell a story. In addition to realizing that the story is just for them, audiences appreciate it as a brilliant performance. One producer summed it up this way, “It’s like watching a live You Tube video — quirky and perfect for reaching audiences.”

• Beatbox Speaker Underscore
A concept developed by Creative Director Jonathan Honore (Williams Gerard) years ago that, to this day, remains one of the most effective numbers we’ve ever done: one performer underscoring a corporate presenter.
And now, sit back and let Frank Boehm’s shows begin …
ARIA REMIXX
The world’s most beloved arias re-imagined to include a DJ, beatboxing, spoken word poetry and Latin Percussion.
Innovative, powerful and moving work.
One of the best loved arias of all time rocks with a Club/House vibe, Brazilian & Latin percussion and beatboxing.
This powerful aria celebrates courage, people with heart and, of course, love. We added a Reggaeton beat. From Bizet’s popular opera “Carmen.” On guard!
Power, virtuosity and emotion. This is New Music that connects.
More fantastic stuff from FRANK BOEHM, INC.
Dance and movement is the very heart of entertainment. Check out the range.
From powerful drumming to quirky found object percussion, fun ways to create a beat.
An improbable combination of talent, fresh rhythms, and off-the-hook arrangements.
