The new way of looking at horse racing

TILL DEATH DO US PART

To the Chinese, as it should be to everyone else, marriage is something very important in their lives.

In fact, from ancient times there are two critical life-rituals that traditionally the Chinese ideally need to accomplish as rites-of-passage.

One is to pass the imperial civil service examination and win a title, while the other one was to marry.

But what if people died before getting married?

Then the parents could arrange for a dead woman and man to wed each other.

Study carefully at the picture below, especially the bride.

You may notice that her eyes don’t look at the camera at all.

Next, pay attention to the couple’s feet.

You can tell there is something weird about them, but you just don’t know what is and how to describe it.

Both of them were deceased and suspended in order to take this photo.

After the wedding party, the newly married couple were buried together and allowed to rest in PEACE together forever.

It was believed, those left to die alone and restless, would return to haunt and complain – to their relatives (mostly the parents) – about being bored and lonely in the “underworld”.
