Clint Eastwood is an American icon- an actor who has appeared in some ground-breaking films, a director-producer who has given us some masterful works of art.
But, Clint Eastwood, speechmaker at a political convention? Not really.

He didn’t really make our day nor those of many who sat through almost fifteen minutes of what started off well in its cutting sarcasm and then dissipated into rambling, unfunny, unscripted and almost, sad to say, weird grand-standing at Thursday’s Republican Convention and was frowned on by many and only praised to the heavens by, of course, Fox News.
Even The Mitt and Mrs. Mitt and Biff Buffo Ryan seemed ill-at-ease and a tad befuddled.
Like we said, we respect and admire Mr. Eastwood.
But his “surprise” appearance- known hours in advance- was a box office flop and an embarrassment.
We felt sorry for the old guy as he didn’t seem to realize he was not playing a role in a movie.
Or, in his addled head, was he?
Weird, yes, fantastic no. Just weird.
Right, Prez?
