The new way of looking at horse racing

WHAT MAKES A HAPPY WEDNESDAY A HAPPY WEDNESDAY

It’s a very old line, but, in Hong Kong, attending a Happy Wednesday night at Happy Valley Racecourse is the most fun one can have with their clothes on.

Or maybe even off.

And all just for a $10 entrance fee.

What do you get?

How will it all turn out?

Well, if you haven’t been to one as yet- and you’ve really missed out if you haven’t- here’s a taste of what to expect.

Great people you rarely meet in any of the usual clubs in Hong Kong.

Plus, the world’s best racing, beer, food, live music and simply put, a VERY good time will be had by all.

Below are only a few morsels to whet the appetite.

And were you there when Fashion TV brought some style to the Valley- and Happy Wednesdays?

What more?

Well, ask our friend Scottie Hui who films most of these events.

He wanted to have his throw of the dice and see how they might land.

He was prepared to wager $1,000.

What happens, he buys four horses as a quinella/place bet which costs him $600.

The return on his investment?

A very cool $8,800.

YAHOOOOO, YOU, DEF BASTARD!

So, winners are also grinners.

And Scottie is still grinning while Warner Music band sings about the joys of being a Rising Star.

All very emotional stuff to us.

Also, come down to a Happy Wednesday and you might get to know some of the jockeys who ride those thousand pound beasts.

They DO have other interests, you know?

You want more?

Sure?

Can you take it?

Okay, let our friend Simon Yim and favourite local band- Killer Soap- tell you about this HKJC/Fast Track promotion.

What we would like to see:

SOHO AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

Cross-promote what the bars and restaurants offer and where Happy Wednesday revelers can visit after the races.

…………

DRAGON-I AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

We’ve gotta keep the music and vibes FRESH!

Perhaps there is a need for some DJs to put the horses in a trance.

And some of those incredible models who dance the night away at the club.

……….

DUSK TILL DAWN AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

More cross-marketing and you-scratch-my-back-and-I’ll-scratch-yours-type of promotion.

There is always a need to go somewhere after the races.

…………….

BURBERRY ACOUSTIC AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

Style and some good acoustic music.

We don’t need to be “electrified” all the time.

Chilling out is good for the soul.

……….

INSOMNIA AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

Celebrate that big win all night long!

………………..

SPICY FINGERS AT THE VALLEY!

Why not?

Screw the crappy YouTube videos.

The club’s resident band – Brown Sugar- has in Dan, the best Rock guitarist we have heard in Asia!

AND NOW YOU KNOW WHAT MAKES A HAPPY WEDNESDAY A HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

FASTTRACK

The new way of looking at horse racing

The world of entertainment today is vast, it cannot be defined, it is intertwined and has become one. One cannot, for example, have music without fashion- and vice versa. Rock Stars, supermodels, actors and actresses and sports heroes have formed Mutual Admiration Societies.

On www.fasttrack.hk, you will see Who’s In, Who’s Out, What’s Hot and What’s Not- in Hong Kong and the rest of the world- in English and Chinese. It’s all ballsy stuff that breaks new ground and tells it like it is. The gloves are off.

Fast Track is the authority and driving force to steer you along the edgy road to this new world of entertainment.. Of course, there will be our opinions- off-the-wall, to-the-point and no waffle.

More important to us is what you think. Really think. Agree, disagree, or tell us to take a hike. As long as it’s a hike on the fast track of life, it doesn’t matter.
