As to who will ride exactly what on March 17 in the Hong Kong BMW Derby still remains somewhat up in the air.
The only thing certain is that Olivier Doleuze will ride race favourite Akeed Mofeed.

The questions that remain unanswered are who will ride the other Richard Gibson runners- the very impressive last start winner over the weekend in Mizani and Gold-Fun.
Douglas Whyte has been doing a great deal of work on the Sean Woods-trained Autumn Gold which can easily run out the Derby distance of 2000 metres. Will the astute jockey jump ship?
Though Whyte has won twice on Gold-Fun which is raced in the same interests as Akeed Mofeed, the talented galloper might find the Derby distance a bridge too far.

So, IF Whyte switch hits and jumps aboard Autumn Gold, who will ride Gold-Fun?
The odds are that the ride will go to Tim Clark IF this were to happen.
Or will Whyte ride Mizani, pictured winning last Saturday, and if THIS happens, it certainly won’t go down well with the very powerful owner of Gold-Fun and Akeed Mofeed.
Rule out this scenario.

So, will Gerard Mosse get the plum ride on Mizani? But, wait, I understand he has been booked to ride Happy Era for John Size.
As Alice said in Wonderland, it’s all getting curiouser and curiouser.
