The new way of looking at horse racing

WILL FRANKIE BE JUMPING FOR JOY AT HAPPY VALLEY?

The highlight[s] at Happy Valley tomorrow will be the International Jockeys Competition- four designated races in which some of the world greatest jockeys will compete.

Representing Hong Kong will be Douglas Whyte, Brett Prebble and Matthew Chadwick.

Amongst the “rest of the world” will be the brilliant Frankie Dettori representing Italy, Johnny Murtagh for Ireland, Luke Nolen for Australia, and Andraash Starke for Germany.

The pundit nehrus of racing reckon it will be a two-horse race between Whyte and Dettori and we have to agree.

Both have the horsepower and, at a track where barrier draws are very important, their mounts are, for the most part, drawn well.

We also give Matthew Chadwick, France’s Christophe Lemaire and the UK’s Ryan Moore good chances.

Forced to pick one winner, we’d go for Douglas Whyte who knows the track like the back of his hand and also has solid winning chances in other races.

He and trainer will go very close to winning on Elusive Prince whereas Fulfil A Wish might be right there in the last race of the evening.

With ‘live’ music from Blaine Whittaker and his Adrenaline band, the HKJC/Fast Track iPhonoracing contest and other surprises, a good time will be had by all.

If one wins tomorrow night’s Triple Trio bet which will go over HK$4m, the good times will be much better- and more long drawn out.
